Reservoir Engineer

The hiring organisation is seeking a skilled Reservoir Engineer to contribute to the safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of technical solutions within its operations. This role provides specialist expertise across multiple stages of the service lifecycle, working closely with operational teams to enhance performance and ensure consistent execution quality. The engineer plays an important role in identifying opportunities to optimise processes, strengthen service delivery, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

A key aspect of the position involves actively engaging with emerging technologies and new service offerings. The Reservoir Engineer is expected to share technical learnings, support the adoption of best practices, and provide real-time operational assistance when required. The role also contributes to shaping job design and technical proposals, ensuring that engineering considerations are fully integrated into planning and execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance throughout the sales, product development, and service delivery process in the designated area of expertise.
• Assist in developing robust technical job designs aligned with operational requirements.
• Identify opportunities to introduce efficient, cost‑effective methods and evaluate potential enhancements to existing workflows.
• Support the creation and optimisation of value‑added solutions.
• Work collaboratively with design and technical engineering functions to refine engineering input during job planning.
• Contribute to real-time response efforts during operational events, recovery actions, and incident investigations.
• Participate in technical assessments of tenders and ensure engineering viability of proposed solutions.
• Stay informed about new industry technologies and evolving technical standards.
• Maintain strong visibility with customers through professional associations, technical forums, and industry activities.
• Build awareness of competitor offerings and market developments.
• Participate in external technical communities and contribute to technical publications.
• Engage with universities, customer research groups, and other technical institutions to support knowledge exchange.

Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering.
• Minimum of five years’ experience working as a Reservoir Engineer.
• Demonstrated capability in reservoir simulation, field development planning, production forecasting, petroleum economics, and data analytics.
• Proficiency with tools such as Petrel, ECLIPSE, and INTERSECT.
• Experience in Python development is advantageous.
