Inspection Engineer – Advanced NDT

The hirer is seeking an experienced Inspection Engineer specialising in Advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to support inspection and integrity activities across complex industrial assets in Rayong, Thailand. This role is suited to a technically capable engineer with hands-on inspection experience and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

The Inspection Engineer will be responsible for carrying out advanced NDT inspections on static equipment such as piping systems and heat exchangers, ensuring inspections are completed in line with recognised standards and internal procedures. The role includes producing clear, accurate inspection reports and contributing to the development of high-quality technical deliverables that meet client expectations.

In addition to field inspection activities, the engineer will provide technical support and guidance related to NDT methods. This includes advising on inspection techniques, interpreting results, and supporting colleagues or stakeholders with NDT-related queries. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain and further develop their technical competence, including undertaking and maintaining NDT Level II certifications across relevant methods such as RT, UT, PT, MT, ET, and advanced techniques.

The role also involves keeping up to date with emerging Advanced NDT technologies and industry best practice. This may include independent research, professional training, and participation in technical seminars, with the aim of supporting future service development and innovation.

A strong focus on quality, safety, health, environmental protection, and risk awareness is essential. The Inspection Engineer is expected to understand and comply with all applicable management systems, procedures, and policies, and to actively contribute to hazard identification, risk assessment, and environmental impact awareness. Regular reporting on inspection outcomes and compliance matters to line management forms part of the role.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related discipline. Typically, candidates will have 3–5 years of relevant experience in inspection engineering or advanced NDT within industrial environments. Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and clear reporting skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively within established safety and quality frameworks.
