Description

An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to support the delivery of complex industrial engineering projects. This role is suited to a technically strong professional with extensive design experience within highly regulated process environments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of piping engineering deliverables, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient plant design solutions. The position offers the opportunity to contribute technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, from early design through to site support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high‑quality piping engineering deliverables including layouts, piping plans and isometric drawings.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation such as line lists, safety instruction sheets, hydrotest diagrams and valve data sheets.
  • Carry out pipe thickness calculations and contribute to detailed plant design, including equipment layout and pipe support spacing.
  • Design expansion loops and assess spacing requirements in line with applicable codes and standards.
  • Participate in site visits to identify tie‑ins and support constructability and installation planning.
  • Ensure all designs comply with recognised industry standards and established engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to resolve technical challenges and support overall project delivery.

Candidate Profile

The role requires a senior‑level piping engineer with significant design experience in process‑driven industries such as oil & gas or petrochemicals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong experience in piping design and engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of internationally recognised piping and mechanical design codes and standards (e.g. ASME and related industry practices).
  • Proven ability to produce detailed and accurate engineering calculations and drawings.
  • Experience working in complex, safety‑critical or highly regulated project environments.
  • A methodical approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Working Environment

The consultancy promotes an inclusive and professional working culture, valuing technical excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement. Engineers are encouraged to contribute their expertise, share knowledge and support the successful delivery of challenging engineering projects.
